My role

My role

UI designer on the Cox account, working with a team of designers across Residential, Business, and Mobile. Translating briefs into on-brand designs, iterating based on client feedback, and presenting work directly to the Cox team.

Mobile cross-sell was a key focus area, using imagery-led modules and a sharper content hierarchy to guide users toward it, all while balancing individual page needs with the constraints of the larger system.

Cox mobile main mobile marketing page

Cox mobile main mobile marketing page

what is it

what is it

Cox Mobile is the entry point for Cox's wireless offering, where customers compare plans, check device deals, and decide whether to bundle mobile with their existing internet service.

The page also had to account for different audiences coming to the page at different moments: current Cox customers, prospective customers with no existing service, and visitors coming in through specific promotions, each needing a slightly different version of the same story.

The page wasn't giving visitors the information they actually came for. Cost savings versus national carriers were mentioned but buried in text, so the strongest reason to switch wasn't even clearly visible. Also, cross-sell moments for existing internet customers were easy to scroll past entirely.

I started by isolating the strongest argument the page wasn't making clearly: switching to Cox is cheaper than staying with a national carrier. Rather than build a new comparison module, I repurposed an existing component from the system and restructured its content to function as a side-by-side savings breakdown, laying out Cox's pricing directly against national carrier plans in a format built for quick scanning rather than paragraphs of copy.

Also the surrounding content was reorganized into clearer groups: plans and devices, bundle savings, coverage, and support. Trust signals moved higher on the page, since anyone comparing carriers is doing so with some skepticism, and I designed mobile-first, leaning on imagery-led modules instead of dense text blocks since that's where most of this traffic lives.

The repurposed comparison module became one of the strongest elements on the page. It made the cost argument immediate and visual instead of something a visitor had to read to understand, and it reinforced Cox as the more affordable option without needing new components outside the existing system.

Combined with the reorganized layout, the page shifted from a dense list of features to a clearer path toward switching or bundling, all while staying within Cox's established AEM library.

The page follows the structure of the existing RingCentral support page, migrated to UI8, Cox Business's updated web design system and brand standard.

The work was a lift-and-shift, bringing the design current rather than rebuilding from scratch.

Cox was very happy with the result. They specifically called out the use of existing components in ways that felt fresh, creating something that looked new while staying fully within the established system.
